INDUSTRY TRAINING WEEK 5- WEEK 8

 WEEK 5

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, those were my last three days that I was working at Seibu TRX. By the first of February I was appointed at the Headquarters in Setiawansa at Maison Fiziwoo.

Address : No 6 Puncak, Off, Jln Bukit Setiawangsa, Taman Setiawangsa, 54200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In the midst of the making of the Raya collection, I joined the company during this period of time. I was eventually assured that the work will be hectic, since the company had photoshoots and as well as a fashion show that were lined up in their schedule.

Thus as soon as I joined the team, I got into the making up of the garments, which first started with ironing and preparing fabrics, to cutting out and fusing interfacing on the pieces of fabrics. As interns we were given the job to facilitate the permanent workers of the company.

On my first week at the HQ I was introduced to the staffs. I was also shown different production rooms  and how everything worked out. The HQ had a production/cutting room, a sewing room and a beading room. They also had the marketing department as well as two offices for the HR manager and the creative directors.
My first task at the HQ was to record the materials that were used for every garment or customers. This step helps with the costing of the designs as well as keeping record of the materials that needs to be bought again when they run out. Every material used like threads, beadings, fabric as well as scissors etc has a code attached to them which makes it easier to record. The below pictures show the software used for such task.
I was also introduced to the beading room where all the materials are kept and i started to become familiar with the different beadings, rhinestones as well as sequins that are used to embellish garments and most importantly, their codes.

At the beginning I also helped with the labelling attachments on every garment.
